Welcome to
Heart Work Therapies
A Gentle and Safe Space for Real Change
At Heart Work Therapies, you are welcomed into a space where healing begins with being truly seen, heard, and understood. Your story matters. Your feelings matter. You matter.
I specialize in art therapy and trauma, including PTSD and complex trauma, helping you process experiences that feel overwhelming or stuck. I also support anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and feelings of disconnection. You don’t have to navigate this alone.
As a humanistic therapist with a Jungian approach, our work honors your whole self—your emotions, stories, dreams, symbols, and inner wisdom. Healing is about reconnecting with who you really are.
Therapy with me is a collaborative journey. It’s not about “fixing” you—it’s about safely processing trauma, navigating life’s challenges, and rediscovering the parts of yourself that feel authentic, grounded, and whole. Step into a space where your growth is guided with compassion, creativity, and care.
Meet Kim - Therapist at Heart Work Therapies
I strive to be a warm, compassionate therapist who specializes in
working with children, teens, adults, and families facing
anxiety, trauma, and life’s emotional challenges. With a deep
belief in each person’s capacity to heal and grow,
I work to create a safe, affirming space where you can show
up authentically, explore their inner world, and begin
meaningful change.
Whether through conversation, art-making, or reflective exercises, Kim helps clients move toward clarity, self-compassion, and lasting emotional growth.
Areas of Focus & Concerns Treated
My primary area of focus is trauma-informed therapy, including work with post-traumatic stress (PTSD) and complex trauma. I specialize in supporting individuals impacted by relational trauma, attachment wounds, and the lasting effects of overwhelming or chronic stress on the nervous system.
In addition to trauma-focused work, I also support clients experiencing a range of emotional, relational, and psychological concerns, including:
-
Depression and mood-related challenges
-
Anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety, panic, and social anxiety
-
Anger, emotional regulation, and impulse control difficulties
-
Grief and loss
-
Chronic stress, burnout, and overwhelm
-
Self-esteem, identity, and self-worth concerns
-
Life transitions and adjustment challenges
-
Relationship and communication difficulties
-
Codependency and boundary-setting challenges
-
Emotional suppression, disconnection, or numbness
-
Emotional distress related to chronic illness, injury, or disability
Whether trauma is a central part of your experience or one piece of a larger picture, therapy can be a space to build safety, understanding, and meaningful change.
Kim blends the practical tools of Root Cause Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with the healing power of Art Therapy, skillfully combining talk therapy with creativity and visual expression. This integrative style allows clients to explore their emotions, patterns, and goals from multiple angles—often uncovering insights that words alone may not reach.
I work with individuals from ages 8 to 99, guiding them through their personal journeys toward greater self-worth, emotional resilience, and a more hopeful, empowered future.
My work with couples, I use Emotional Focus Therapy to help partners reconnect, rebuild trust, and foster deeper communication. I also partner with parents, offering tools and insight to support their child or teen’s therapeutic progress both in and out of session.
If you're ready to begin your healing journey—or just curious about what therapy could look like—I am here to help you take the first step.

The Humanistic Approach:
You Are Not a Diagnosis
The Humanistic approach places you, the whole person, at the center of therapy—not just your symptoms, history, or labels. It is grounded in deep respect, empathy, and authenticity.
Key principles include:
-
You have an innate capacity to grow, heal, and thrive
-
Therapy is a collaborative relationship, not a top-down process
-
Your unique values, choices, and experiences are honored
-
Emotional pain is met with compassion, not judgment
This approach emphasizes present-moment awareness, self-acceptance, and helping you live more fully and freely.
What to Expect in Therapy
Therapy is a gentle unfolding—not a quick fix, but a meaningful process.
You can expect:
-
A safe, confidential space where you can bring your true self
-
A blend of deep conversation and reflective practices (like journaling, art, or dream exploration)
-
A therapist who listens with curiosity, not judgment
-
The freedom to go at your own pace—no pressure, no agenda
Some sessions may feel exploratory and reflective, while others focus on supporting you through emotional pain, relationship challenges, or life transitions.

The Jungian Approach:
Healing Through Depth & Symbol
Inspired by the work of Carl Jung, the Jungian approach invites us to explore the unconscious parts of the psyche—those beneath-the-surface thoughts, emotions, images, and patterns that shape our lives, often without our awareness.
This approach includes:
-
Dream work: Understanding the messages and symbolism in your dreams
-
Exploration of archetypes and the “shadow”: Uncovering hidden aspects of the self
-
Creative expression: Art, imagination, and storytelling as paths to deeper insight
-
Individuation: The lifelong process of becoming your most whole, authentic self
Jungian therapy helps you reconnect with meaning, inner wisdom, and the deeper layers of who you are.
Art Therapy Options
Art Therapy is a form of mental health psychotherapy that uses creative expression—like drawing, painting, sculpting, or collage—to help people explore their emotions, process difficult experiences, and improve overall well-being.
You don’t need to be “good at art” for art therapy to be effective. The focus isn’t on the final product—it’s about what the process of creating reveals, and how it helps you feel, think, and grow.
Licensed Art Therapists are trained mental health professionals who guide individuals in using art to communicate thoughts and feelings that may be hard to express with words.

Art therapy can be especially helpful for those dealing with:
-
Depression
-
Anxiety
-
Trauma & PTSD
-
Grief & Loss
-
Stress
-
Low Self-Esteem
-
Behavioral Challenges
-
Life Transitions
It provides a safe space to explore emotions, reduce overwhelm, and build coping skills.
